Totally Games!
I got a job!
I’ll be programming video games at Totally Games!
So, on a whim (and not believing that I would actually get a job this way) sent in my resume to www.gamerecruiter.com. A week or two later, I received an unexpected phone call from them (by a person named Stacey, if I remember properly). Through her and her associate Christine, I was soon being interviewed for Totally Games, and then was flown out to California for an in person interview. Since I was in Cali, my warcraft guild was having an event in San Diego, so I drove from San Fran to there for that. On the way down, Robin (from TG) called me and gave me a job offer — which I was most excited to accept. See below for info on the interview process.
Part 1: The Programming Test
This part consisted of receiving a test over email, completing it, and then sending it back. It was particularly hard since I wasn’t overly versed in C/C++.
Part 2: The Phone Interview
This part was just a bit of talking and situational prompts. Makes you kind of nervous because you’re asked (sometimes hard) moral questions.
Part 3: The In-person Interview
This part was hard because it was very long, about five or six hours. It consisted of a few hardish logic / programming problems.
